Mumbai, Nov 5 singer-composer Bhupen Hazarikadied Saturday at a Mumbai hospital, his relatives said. He was 85. He died at 4.37 p.m. at the Kokilaben Hospital.
Hazarika lay connected to a life-support system. Critical, post a complete renal failure, doctors said he responds only to Bihu geet 'the earthy harvest songs of Assam ' that are played to him.
