All you need to know about IIT JEE 2012

The mad race to make huge dreams true has begun! The online registrations for the Indian Institute of Technology Joint entrance examination began on Monday. The exam provides entry into the prestigious IITs as well as other institutes. Candidates who qualify in the IIT-JEE are eligible to apply for a bachelor’s course in Architecture, Design, Technology and Masters course in Sciences and Science & Technology.
As of today, there are about 7000 seats allotted in 15 IITs for young aspirants this year. “So far about 3,800 students have completed their application process on the first day, while many others have registered. However, we are not concerned with those who have only registered because we don’t recognize their application till the fees has been submitted,” said GB Reddy, chairman, JEE Office.

The DNA reports: The exam is scheduled to be held on April 8th 2012. This time, candidates can register through two ways. The online mode will be active from October 31st 2011 to December 10th 2011. The physical sale of application forms will happen from November 11th 2011 to December 5th 2011. The last date for registration through both the modes is December 15th 2011.
Apart from the change in the registration, reports from The Times of India also reveal a change in the eligibility criteria for candidates to get admissions to the IITs. Students are expected to score a minimum of 10% marks each in physics, chemistry and math. Also, a minimum aggregate 35% is required to appear in the common rank list this year.
