Google Adsense - Earn money from your site

What is Google Adsense?
Google AdSense is a program where website publishers can earn money for displaying relevant ads on their website's content pages. The program is free, and combines pay-per-click and pay-per-impression advertising. You get paid for valid clicks on the ads on your site as well as impressions on your content pages. The ads are related to what your visitors are looking for on your site. So this enhances your content pages. At the same time you get better click throughs than non-targeted advertising. Adsense also allows publishers to provide Google web and site search to their visitors, and to earn money by displaying Google ads on the search results pages.
How much will I earn through this program?
The best way to find out how much you'll earn is to sign up and start showing ads on your web pages. Sign up is free. Google shares a portion of the advertising revenue generated from your site with you.
How do I signup for Adsense?
To sign up with Google AdSense, you need to have a website which complies with adsense program policies. You can submit the application from the Adsense homepage. After submitting application and verifying your your email address, your application will be reviewed in 2-3 days. You will be informed whether you are accepted and if accepted, you can start using Adsense. It is said that if you apply for adsense with a blog at blogspot.com as your website, chances of your acceptance are increased.
How will they pay me?
Once you have earned at least $100 from the program, you will be paid the next month. You will be paid every month your balance exceeds $100. Adsense pays Indian publishers by cheques in Indian rupees. They send the cheque by mail unless you request to send it by FedEx.
Things to avoid as an adsense publisher
Google is very strict on preventing fraud and may ban your account at the slightest hint of fraud. You should take utmost care to avoid any impression that you are promoting click fraud. You should avoid clicking at the ads by yourself. If you are telling your friends or relatives about your site, warn them not to click on the ads to help you. This may result in getting you banned. Always take care that you don't violate the terms. All said and done, if you are an honest publisher, it is unlikely that you will land in trouble with Google.
